Catholic Religious Australia National Assembly |
|
The 2008 national assembly for Catholic Religious Australia will be held in
Melbourne from June 30 - July 3 under the theme Our Multi-Cultural
Church: Reality, gift and challenge.
Sr Christine Bourke IBVM, writes in Pathways the official CRA newsletter.
" The Leaders' Assembly in early July will focus on "Our Australian
multi-cultural church: reality, gift and challenge."
It will be useful if congregations and members with experience of the gift
and challenge of dealing with our current reality pass on to us any stories
which capture a little of this complex reality: we want this meeting to be
grounded in life experience, and we know the stories are out there."

This morning I had
the pleasure of walking the Stations of the Cross with a Year 9 class at Lourdes Hill
College, Brisbane.
Following an intensive formation experience, students in Year Ten at the
college, produced contemporary images of the Stations specifically from a
woman’s perspective. It was a most energising
experience to be with these young women who were responding to Christ-like
figures in our contemporary world.

The World's Greatest, Untapped Alternative Resource: Women |
Joan Chittister OSB writes in 'From Where I Stand'
"The first international conference of the Global Peace Initiative of Women, "making way for the feminine for the benefit of the world community" is a potentially life-changing enterprise." ....
“More than 450 women from more than 45 countries have come to Jaipur, India, to make a difference, to unmask the woeful absence of the other half of the human race in the resolution of the greatest issues facing the human condition -- to be the launching ground for another kind of reflection -- on the human condition, to raise the ideas of the invisible in clear cadence, and loud voice -- to give this eagle wings!”
